In turning in the key to the sled, the same individual who originally checked me out went to look at it. It was full of gas from the station just across the street and in perfect condition, having been ridden slightly over 200 miles, at all times in the company of from 1 to 4 friends and in the same conditions. Three days later, and on the afternoon of the return date, I brought the sled in. since the carbide shown me was in perfect condition and my rental was for only three days. He said: "I will replace carbides five or six times with no problem but, if you damage a ski I will have to charge you for it." I could not see the carbide on the left ski and thought about having him show me that but thought better of it. ![]() The employee performing the rundown lifted the sled so that the right front ski was off the ground and pointed to the carbide runner. On the morning of pickup, I was provided the usual rundown on how this particular sled operated. The usual paperwork was filled out and it was agreed I could pick up my sled in the morning. My reservation was made well in advance, and I personally appeared at Land O' Lakes the day before my rental of a four-stroke sled was to commence, to let the staff know I had arrived and would pick up my rental the next day. Never have I had the slightest problem, until Land O' Lakes Recreation. I have ridden 0vr 6,000 miles during this period without serious mishap, on rental sleds from three different companies. With the exception of 2021 when Covid-19 was in full swing, I have traveled to both MI and WI over the past seven years to snowmobile with friends, many of whom own their own sleds and others who rent. I am an experienced snowmobiler and renter.
